Selichot Dinner, Program, and Service

Saturday, September 17
6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

6:30 PM – Dinner
7:30 PM – Presentation with Lia Mandelbaum
8:30 PM – Selichot Service

Selichot begins our High Holy Days. Before our service (at which the themes of self-reflection, repentance, and forgiveness are introduced), we’ll be joined by Lia Mandelbaum. Lia grew up at Schaarai Zedek and spoke at our first Pride Shabbat in 2016. This year, Lia will share the power of that moment, feeling accepted in a place where she wasn’t always sure she would be. We’ll discuss what it means to be a caring community and think about how we can be present for all of our community members during times of questioning and vulnerability. No charge for dinner; RSVPs are requested.
