Cantor Beth Schlossberg grew up in Philadelphia, and graduated from the University of Michigan in 2001 with a Bachelor of Music. Her performance credits include the Philadelphia Opera Company, the Da Ponte Concert Opera in NYC, Tampa Opera, as well as concerts and private events. When she realized that the cantorate would perfectly combine her love of Judaism and of music, she enrolled in the Jewish Theological Seminary at the H.L. Miller Cantorial School. She has served as Cantor with Beth El Synagogue in Omaha, Nebraska, Congregation Kol Ami in Tampa, Florida, Congregation Shaarey Tikvah in Cleveland, OH, and Temple Beth El in Fort Myers, FL, and has been a guest Cantor at many-a-temple around the country! Cantor Beth is also an educator: She tutors for B’nai Mitzvah and Hebrew, and has helped create and weave together engaging curriculum for both Religious and Day Schools alike. Cantor Beth believes education should engage a student on many levels, in a classroom, through an experience, or through participation! She and her husband, Michael, love to spend time with friends, and you can often find them zipping around Tampa on two wheels (the motor variety!). Cantor Beth is grateful and honored to be part of the Schaarai Zedek family, and looks forward to joining the community.
