Community is at the heart of synagogue life. At Schaarai Zedek, we believe in showing up for one another through service, support, and meaningful involvement. Whether you’re looking to volunteer, participate in social action initiatives, or find help during a challenging time, we offer opportunities for every interest and schedule.
Community Life & Service connects the many ways our congregation cares for its members and the Tampa community.
Our Caring Community volunteers provide support to congregants during times of illness, loss, or transition. Assistance may include meals, cards, calls, or other thoughtful gestures coordinated in partnership with our clergy team.
If you or someone you know needs support, please contact our office.
Social action is an important part of who we are. Throughout the year, we organize programs and partnerships focused on food insecurity, housing, education, and other community needs. Opportunities include supply drives, service days, learning sessions, and hands-on volunteer projects for all ages.
Current initiatives and upcoming volunteer programs are shared in our eNews and on the calendar.
There are many ways to get involved at Schaarai Zedek. Volunteers help with holiday events, youth programs, community service projects, hospitality efforts, administrative tasks, and more. Whether you’re available once a month or once a year, we’ll help you get connected.

In addition to service-focused programs, Schaarai Zedek offers events that help our members connect socially and build relationships. These include holiday celebrations, family programs, adult groups, and community-wide gatherings throughout the year.
