Holidays are an important part of Jewish life at Schaarai Zedek. Throughout the year, our community gathers to celebrate, reflect, and connect through meaningful services, music, learning, and special programs for all ages.
Our clergy and staff work together to create experiences that blend tradition with accessibility, so whether you are very familiar with Jewish practice or just beginning to explore, you are welcome.
During Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, we offer a range of services and programs, including options for families with children, teens, and adults. Services are held in person and are also available via livestream for those joining from home.
Each year’s schedule includes:
Rosh Hashanah evening and morning services
Family and youth services
Yom Kippur evening (Kol Nidre) and morning services
Afternoon, Yizkor, and Ne’ilah services
Details and registration information are posted in advance of the High Holy Days.
We observe the major festivals with worship and community gatherings, including:
Sukkot
Simchat Torah
Chanukah celebrations
Purim
Passover-related programs and learning
Shavuot
Services are often accompanied by learning opportunities, music, and programs for children, teens, and adults.
Many of our holiday services are available via livestream for those who are unable to attend in person. You can watch services on our CSZ On Demand page.
Holidays at Schaarai Zedek include family-friendly opportunities such as children’s services, special programs for teens, and hands-on celebrations for families with young children. These are coordinated in partnership with our Youth & Family and Religious School teams.
Upcoming holiday services and events are listed on our calendar and shared in our email communications.
