Our Active Adults programs are designed for anyone interested in building connections, discovering new interests, and enjoying meaningful experiences with others in the Schaarai Zedek community. Whether you’re an empty nester, young professional, recent retiree, or simply looking to get involved, Active Adults offers a warm, welcoming space to meet people and have fun.
We host a wide range of activities throughout the year including social events, educational programs, cultural outings, and opportunities for shared conversation. There is something for everyone and new friends are always welcome.
Active Adults programming features:
Game Afternoons
Relax with friendly competition. Favorite pastimes include cards, mahjong, and group board games. Skill levels vary and newcomers are always invited to join in.
Movie Matinees
Enjoy a comfortable afternoon at the theater with fellow congregants. We select a mix of new releases and popular favorites, followed by conversation for anyone who wishes to stay.
Straz Center Outings
Experience the arts together with group trips to the Straz Center for theater, concerts, and special performances. Tickets are often offered at a group rate, and transportation details are shared in advance.
Cultural and Learning Programs
From guest speakers and book discussions to holiday-themed gatherings and seasonal workshops, these events provide thoughtful engagement and connection.
Community Social Events
Look for casual meetups, special celebrations, and opportunities to enjoy time with old and new friends in relaxed settings throughout the year.
All Active Adults events are advertised on our website calendar and in weekly communications. Many activities require an RSVP, and some outings have limited spots available.
