Learning is an important part of Jewish life, and our Intro to Judaism course is designed for anyone who wants to explore Jewish tradition, culture, and practice in a supportive environment. Whether you are new to Judaism, partnering with someone Jewish, reconnecting after time away, or simply curious, you are welcome.
This course is taught by our clergy and includes conversations about Jewish holidays, life cycle events, history, beliefs, rituals, and the rhythms of Jewish living. No prior knowledge is expected or required.
Intro to Judaism is a good fit for:

Anyone interested in learning more about Jewish life
You do not need to be a member to participate.
Topics typically include:
Jewish holidays and the Jewish calendar
Shabbat and home traditions
Core beliefs and values
Jewish history and culture
Life cycle events
Prayer and the prayer book
Jewish texts and learning
The diversity of Jewish identity and practice
Each session includes time for questions and discussion.
Intro to Judaism is offered once or twice each year, depending on interest and clergy availability. The course meets in a small-group format, either in person or on Zoom, and runs for several weeks.
Class schedules, registration, and materials are shared in advance of each session.
For those exploring conversion, this class is the first step in the process. Participants meet with clergy individually for further study, conversation, and guidance. Our clergy are here to support you at every stage.
