Audrey is an extraordinary woman with numerous accomplishments. She has been a member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek her entire life. In fact, she is the longest serving Sisterhood member at 76 years. Sisterhood and its well-being have always been her priority. She has done it all! President, Vice President, Treasurer, committee chair, and most importantly, mentor and friend. She has guided Sisterhood into what it is today. Serving as Sisterhood’s “Honorary” President, Audrey still attends board meetings.
No matter how many awards and accolades, Audrey continues to be a leader and mentor who is always willing to help. She has earned the congregation’s President’s Award, Sisterhood’s Super Star Award, and has been honored as a “Woman of Distinction.” Rumor has it that the Rabbis consult Audrey on all important decisions.
On a more serious note, there is no one who has been more involved and set a lifelong example prioritizing our Temple. She exemplifies excellence and that is why in 2015, Schaarai Zedek Sisterhood established “The Audrey Maas Shine Leadership Award.” We are so very lucky to be celebrating and honoring Audrey on her 100th birthday!
The Y.E.S. (Youth, Education, and Special Projects) Fund Brunch presents us with a perfect opportunity to honor Audrey. She has always been a woman who says Y.E.S. to her family, her community, and her Temple Family.
