Sisterhood’s spring Social Action project is appropriate for all age groups, and everyone in the congregation is invited to join us. This is a perfect opportunity to work on a worthy project with children or grandchildren. Kits can be picked up at Schaarai Zedek until Friday.

Our free virtual event entails assembling Gratitude Bags with goodies and special messages for teachers. This Sisterhood Presidents Council project will benefit teachers at three schools: Alexander and Miles Elementary Schools, both Title 1 public schools in Tampa, and our own Amy Gail Buchman preschool. Interns currently working at Alexander and Miles will join us to discuss their experiences working in Title 1 public education settings.

Lindsey Dewey will host the Zoom call to instruct participants for this project. No crafting is required, but you will need a pair of scissors from home and colored markers, colored pencils, or crayons. Upon completion, the Gratitude Bags can be dropped off at Congregation Schaarai Zedek or the Bryan Glazer Jewish Community Center on Howard Avenue. The bags will be distributed to teachers by Sisterhood in time for Teacher Appreciation Week May 2nd – 8th, 2021.

Kits are sold out, but you can still attend the Zoom call!
