Erev Shabbat Service with Guest Speaker Dr. Lupovitch

When

June 25, 2021
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

During the last few years, and especially during the last several months, three aspects of Anti-Semitism have especially challenged and confounded us as American Jews: distinguishing between Anti-Semitism of the right and Anti-Semitism of the left, where and how to draw a line between Anti-Semitism and criticism of the State of Israel, and the most effective ways that we as a community can respond to all these forms of Anti-Semitism.

Dr. Lupovitch, Director of the Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies at Wayne State University in Detroit and an expert in European Jewish History, will provide his analysis of our current situation, informing his view with his historic understanding of Anti-Semitism in Europe coming from both sides of the political spectrum.

Dr. Lupovitch, who will be joining us virtually from Detroit, will speak during our Shabbat service with an opportunity for question and answer, both from those in-person and online, following the service.
