Welcome to the Congregation Schaarai Zedek Brotherhood Web page. Our Temple Brotherhood is the men's organization which combines fun with Temple service. We create opportunities for men to network, explore, and celebrate through study, worship and service in an atmosphere of fellowship and the male Jewish spirit.

Our Brotherhood provides an ideal way for the men in our congregation to get to know each other and to get involved in Temple and community life through service, commitment, and friendship. Our objectives are to explore contemporary issues affecting Jewish men and to provide service to the Temple in the spirit of fun and enjoyment. Congregation Schaarai Zedek Brotherhood is actively engaged in improving the quality of life for our members, our families, our congregation, and our community.

The Temple Brotherhood serves Congregation Schaarai Zedek and the community through a variety of social, religious, cultural, recreational, and educational activities. We sponsor the Sunday Morning Bagels and Schmooze, special events, social functions, adult education, and support special Religious School and youth programs.

We also coordinate the ushering for the Shabbat services as well as the High Holiday services and produce educational programs for the general membership. The membership also supports the Temple and other Constituent groups in their many special programs. The Brotherhood also holds joint meeting with other local congregation Brotherhoods to promote closeness with the Tampa Jewish community as a whole. Our membership draws on men from a wide variety of occupations and skills.

The Temple Brotherhood is a not-for-profit service organization. Our events are run on a break-even basis, so that we rely solely on our members' dues and various fund raising projects to support our activities. The more members we have, the more services we can provide to Congregation Schaarai Zedek.

Our meeting times and places vary from Sunday mornings or Tuesday evenings at the Temple to dinner meetings at a local restaurant. We welcome visitors and new members.

We hope you will join us in friendship and brotherhood and help us continue our Congregation Schaarai Zedek Brotherhood activities. To truly succeed as an organization, we need to retain our existing base of members and add new members who are willing to get involved. We offer you a number of ways in which to become more involved in Temple life and the Temple community.
