Congratulations on your retirement. We are grateful for your warm welcome on our arrival in Tampa. Your care and concern about your congregants shines through, along with your wisdom and your insights when teaching about Jewish and world history. Wishing you an exciting journey on your next stage.
Thank you for all the love and memories that you have brought to my family over the years. You have. Elevated every happy and sad occasion along with us and have been there when we needed a friend most.
I have enjoyed listening to your sermons on every high holiday and at all the services I attend. We will miss you as our Rabbi but we are appreciative of all the love you have given the Hirsch Family.
Love, Rachel Hirsch
Dear Richard and Donna, you have been such an important part of our lives; from when Tricia and I were dating to our marriage, the baby naming's, confirmations, Bat Mitzvahs, Tricia's illnesses and the incredible funeral for my father...Richard you have been a sagacious Judaic advisor to us all and have touched our hearts with your thought provoking sermons, your acts of good deeds and your genuine concern for our family's well being both spiritually and emotionally. Donna, you have always been the most thoughtful person and are such a strong force for helping educate our children and making the Temple a warm and inviting place. Thank you both for the love, the guidance and the openness you always shared with us. We love you!! Andy & Tricia, Lauren & Rachel Hirsch
Dear Donna and Richard, As you know, I think of you as family. You were both so welcoming to my parents and so caring when they were ill.; You helped me and my family deal with my parents' deaths. Rabbi's insights about me and my family were on the spot. Doug and I hope that you will be able to travel, to be with your family more, and to enjoy an easier life. I will look forward to seeing and hearing Rabbi as he assumes the mantle of Emeritus. Once again, we wish only good times for you both.
Dear Richard and Donna, I am certain your many years in Tampa have shaped and molded many Jewish Families as was ours. We were honored to have you both as friends and spiritual leaders. Our short time in Tampa was sweeter because of you both and your wonderful family,
Dear Rabbi & Donna,
Congratulations on this milestone event - although we will indeed miss Rabbi's Congregational leadership & Donna's behind-the-scenes guidance, you are both no doubt ready to move on to some real R&R. We wish you the very best as you venture forth in new endeavors & look forward to continue to see you at Temple.
Sending our regrets that we cannot share in the April 27-28 weekend celebration with you (visiting our kids in Brooklyn - a chance we just can't pass up).
With deep fondness & gratitude for so much you've both provided our family over the years,
Iris & Bill
Dear Rabbi and Donna,
We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts all that you have done for our family. Between both our children attending Religious school from very young to all the way to Confirmation. Daniel, Adina, and Marc all enjoyed the canoeing and tomato picking. We all enjoyed the campout on Schaarai Zedek's lawn for Sukkot. We remember the sweet and touching words that you have provided during those happy moments and not so happy moments. Enjoy being able to sit in the congregation and enjoy others. This is your time to sit back and enjoy.
Congratulations on your retirement!! Rabbi Birnolz, you had a profound effect on both of our lives. You were our guide into this beautiful faith both as children and as we stepped into our married lives together. Thank you for your service to our community!
To Donna and Rabbi-- thank you for making our lives in Tampa a wonderful and loving experience. Your
leadership and teachings we will always hold dear
Wishing you both health and happiness for your retirement. Rabbi, you are the most insightful person I have ever known.
Congratulations Rabbi and Donna!
Happy retirement! Thank you for everything you have done for Congregation Schaarai Zedek.
