Ian Bernstein joined Congregation Schaarai Zedek as the first Director of the new Amy Gail Buchman PreSchool and Child Development Center in July,1998. The school opened with 17 students and today has more than 340. He began his career as an educator in 1970. After operating a Pre-K to Grade 3 center in New Jersey, he founded the Woodstock Children’s Center in Woodstock, NY. He also has co-founded and co-directed a day camp for the arts. Ian and his wife, Anne, have two daughters.
