High Holy Days Booklet Yom Kippur Program Roll of Remembrance
Welcome to the High Holy Days at Congregation Schaarai Zedek!
Please take a moment to carefully read the information below to ensure that you have a positive High Holy Day experience. If you are a member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek and would like to RSVP for members listed on your account and/or purchase tickets for additional guests.
The Roll of Remembrance deadline has passed.
If you are not a Congregation Schaarai Zedek member and would like to request tickets.
Non-members in good standing of another congregation may request courtesy tickets through the Union for Reform Judaism’s (URJ) reciprocity arrangement. Please request reciprocity directly from your synagogue using the URJ’s reciprocity form, or have your synagogue email a reciprocity form to us at office@zedek.org. To help us manage our capacity, please indicate specifically which of our services you’d like to attend (dates and times).

Tashlikh Service at Ballast Point

Experience the beauty of this symbolic ritual as we gather at Ballast Point. Together, we will cast away our sins by ceremoniously throwing bread crumbs into the water, preparing ourselves for Yom Kippur.

Yom Kippur Afternoon Services

Yom Kippur afternoon services are a time for reflection and introspection. The services are also a time for hope and renewal when we pray for a new year filled with blessings and for a fresh start.
Yom Kippur Break-the-Fast
Monday, September 25, 6 PM
Break-the-fast is a joyous occasion shared with family and friends. Traditional foods such as challah, bagels, and cream cheese are typically served. This meal marks the end of the Yom Kippur fast and allows us to replenish our bodies and celebrate the completion of this solemn day.
During High Holy Days, childcare is available for children between the ages of 18 months and seven years old. Space is limited and will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Please bring your own diapers, snacks, and juice, appropriately labeled. For child drop-off, please use the Amy Gail Buchman Preschool entrance. Drop-offs without reservations will NOT be allowed.

The Roll of Remembrance is a booklet distributed during the Yizkor Memorial Service on Yom Kippur. To memorialize a departed family member in this year’s Roll of Remembrance, please complete the Ticket Request RSVP form by Friday, September 1. The deadline is firm so that we have adequate time to compile and produce this special booklet. We request a donation of $18 per name to be included in the Roll of Remembrance.

The deadline to place an order in this year’s Roll of Remembrance has closed. We are sorry if anyone has missed out on the opportunity to place a listing. We do our best to try to accommodate everyone during the High Holy Days. Thank you for your understanding.
Memorial Plaques are a more permanent way to remember loved ones. Each plaque costs $500 and holds the name, date of birth, and date of death of one person. The plaques have their own light which is illuminated on the person’s Yahrzeit and holidays when Yizkor is read. Orders placed by Friday, September 1, will be included in this year’s Roll of Remembrance booklet at Yom Kippur. While we will do everything possible to expedite the delivery of the physical plaques, the supplier cannot guarantee delivery prior to Yom Kippur.

Schaarai Zedek High School Teens invite you to participate in our annual High Holy Day Hunger Project. This year, we are collecting monetary donations to support the Tampa Jewish Family Services (TJFS) Community Food Bank.

Your donation will help the TJFS Community Food Bank purchase food items for families in need in the Tampa Bay Area. Each year, the TJFS donates over 5,500 bags of food to 450 households.
